So thankful my son chose this play!
"I had no idea what Hadestown was about. No idea what to expect. My son chose this as his “must see” for our trip. I was blown away! The acting, the singing, the choreography, the music, the story line….all of it was amazing. I was able to know what was going on even though I had no prior knowledge. Several of the performers were understudies, and one of the performers it was her very first night! I didn’t know who was a vet and who was new, could not tell it at all. My son explained it all to me after the show.
The 2 performers that came out after for photos and autographs were so kind and gracious and patient.
This was our first ever on Broadway play, we’d only seen one off Broadway before (Hamilton in Alabama), and I am absolutely in awe!
We have 2 more (Gatsby and the Wiz) booked for this week. So excited and hooked!

Best Show from our Weekend Broadway Binge!
"Jazzy musical based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice (spoiler risk if you Google it!). We flew in from out of town to cram Great Gatsby, Merrily We Roll Along, and Hadestown into a 24hr period, and Hadestown was our favorite of the three. The music was great! We went back and listened to the original cast soundtrack afterwards and we actually preferred the current cast! Orpheus and Eurydice and Hermes in particular were great when we went. The story is gripping and engaging and there are some awesome visuals. The Act 1 Finale in particular has some epic lighting choreography. I think the story and characters are too intense for elementary age kiddos, so I wouldn’t recommend it for the full family."
