Amazing show! The songs will get stuck in your head!!!
"From start to finish this show was amazing! The music and dancing were phenomenal! I laughed. I cried. And I’ve spent the last week singing the songs over and over in my head—the music is THAT good! I brought my 3 daughters to the show, ages 18, 15, & 12. We’ve never seen a Broadway show together. This was perfect! They enjoyed it as much as I did. We only wish we could have seen Hadestown everyday we were in town. Bravo to the whole cast and the team behind the scenes!!! What an amazing experience!!"

First Broadway experience! This musical is a must!
"From the very first note to the final curtain call, *Hadestown* was an absolute triumph. Jordan Fisher and Maia Reficco delivered show-stopping performances that were nothing short of magical. Fisher's Orpheus was tender, passionate, and magnetic, while Reficco’s Eurydice was heartbreakingly raw, powerful, and relatable. Their chemistry was electric and brought the timeless love story to life with breathtaking emotional depth. The entire cast was phenomenal, each bringing their unique energy and talent to the stage. The seamless choreography, stunning set design, and hauntingly beautiful music all worked together to create an immersive journey into the underworld. Special shoutout to the incredible performances of Persephone and Hades – their dynamic was captivating and added layers of intrigue and intensity to the story. *Hadestown* is more than a show; it’s an experience. The poignant storytelling, infused with jazz and folk-inspired melodies, hits every emotional note perfectly. It’s thought-provoking, heart-wrenching, and uplifting all at once. Whether you're a seasoned theatergoer or a Broadway newcomer, *Hadestown* is an absolute must-see. Bravo to the entire cast and crew for creating an unforgettable evening. I would give this 10 stars if I could!"

Amazing Performances
"I was lucky enough to Maia and Jordan Fisher and it was soooooo worth it. I was moved to tears several times during the show by how powerful and touching the performances were. I've seen the show twice, but only once on Broadway. I've seen it with both a Hermes man and a Hermes woman and prefer the woman performance a million times more."

Sobbing
"I cried 3 times on the Subway back to my hotel. Jordan Fisher was the perfect casting choice. Maia Reficco is so talented that I can't believe she hasn't been on Broadway before. Philip Boykin blew me away with his voice, Lillias White was the perfect Hermes, and I can't believe Allison Russell is a self-taught vocalist. 10/10 musical, couldn't recommend more. Worth every penny. "

My new favorite musical.
"The music is amazing. The set and cast were wonderful. The theater itself was great, not a bad seat in the house. As a side note the woman running traffic control for the bathrooms was efficient and made that crowd run smooth."

This musical has my heart
"The show was amazing. I went in there with expectations and only knowing 1 sound because I wanted to be surprised, and I was! From the very start, you’re entranced in the story, not only because of the storytelling but also because of the amazing music and how both the musicians and the actors perform it. You’ll not regret going to see this broadway show!"

Incredible
"I got seats front left row, which is not ideal because you will miss some (just a few) moments or reactions because of the actors position in the stage. Having said that, I would have changed anything: getting to see the musicians, the actors and their faces up-close added so much to the experience. The music, being able to see the band playing, and having the actors play some instruments and do some special effects as well, all makes it an amazing and beautiful experience. The energy, the passion, the delicacy, the voices, the acting of all members of the show, everything is so well-balanced. You get the feeling that they are all having fun (although it's a sad song, a sad tale) and enjoying it along with you. Would recommend it to everyone, and would definitely go and experience it all over again!!"

Loved every minute.
"This show exceeded all my expectations. I love the story of love and hope even in the midst of dark times. The cast was absolutely incredible and brought the story to life in a beautiful way. This is a smaller cast but they fill the stage in a wonderful way. The stage design and costume designs were immaculate. I loved the intimacy in the room. I wish I could see it again and again. "

A timeless tale of hope and perseverance.
"From the soul-shaking vocals to the intricate choreography, the show breathes through the cast. Lillias White makes a powerful guide through Hadestown for the entire theater. Phillip Boykin gives a depth to Hades along with wit and presence. Allison Russell energized the audience as Persephone with her unforgettable ownership of the stage. Maia Reficco brings such soul with her effortless vocal delivery and has perfect chemistry with Jordan Fisher who is absolutely phenomenal and constantly beaming with gumption and passion. His voice makes every song unforgettable. Truly a Star! The whole band gives the production a beautiful heartbeat with overflowing talent. It is apparent that everyone involved in this production is connected with heart. It’s a beautiful thing to watch that unfold, through the joyful and tearful moments on stage."

"What a cast! We traveled mostly to see Jordan Fisher, but I was impressed the same by the rest of the cast, everyone of it. Great musicality. Phillip Boykin voice is incredible. It reminded me the late James Earl Jones."

A mythical journey that transcends time and space
"The performance of Hadestown left an indelible mark on my soul. This modern retelling of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, woven together with the tale of Hades and Persephone, is nothing short of theatrical brilliance. From the moment the lights dimmed, the show cast its spell, transforming the theater into a poetic dreamscape where love, doubt, and fate dance in perfect harmony. The music is a masterful blend of folk, jazz, and blues that burrows deep into your consciousness. Songs like "Wait for Me" and "Road to Hell" showcase the extraordinary vocal talents of the cast while driving the narrative forward with emotional precision. The way the music shifts between the warmth of the world above and the industrial harshness of Hadestown below is simply genius. The staging is a visual feast, with the innovative use of rotating platforms and lighting creating seamless transitions between the mortal world and the underworld. The ensemble's movements, choreographed with intricate precision, add layers of meaning to every scene, transforming simple gestures into powerful storytelling moments. What truly sets Hadestown apart is how it makes an ancient myth feel urgently relevant to our times. In a world of spectacle-driven theater, Hadestown reminds us that the most powerful stories are those that speak to the heart's deepest truths. It's a rare production that manages to be both timeless and timely, intimate and epic, devastating and hopeful. "

Fantastic performance!
"I have not been to a show in New York for many years, so I wasn't sure what to expect when going to a smaller theater. I was pleasantly surprised! This show relates to several different story lines, and was easy and wonderful to follow. My favorite scene was when Mr. Hades and his wife reconnected and danced - it was beautiful! This show has reminded me how much I love theater!"

A new all-time favorite
"I could watch this show again and again. The music, the energy, the staging are all fantastic. Whether you know the Greek stories of Opheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone or not you will enjoy the show because the themes are universal. The theater was nice. It’s older, but well run. I have seen the tour cast twice and if I was closer to NYC, I would come and see this again and again. Seeing this three different times wasn’t enough."

It was amazing
"It was incredible. I loved all of it. The night we went we had the understudy of Orpheus and he was great. Maia was absolutely terrific and I wish she could have a longer run. The lady who played Hermes had the most incredible jazz voice , she was so addictive to watch. The rest of the cast were also amazing. I have no faults !!"

About Hadestown

Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. This acclaimed new musical by celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today… and always.

Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales—that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone—as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell’s beguiling melodies and Chavkin’s poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers and singers, Hadestown is a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.
