"🎭 Moulin Rouge! The Musical — Broadway
As someone who has spent a lot of time both onstage and in the audience, I am always looking at the details—the design, the storytelling, the ensemble work, the choreography, and all those little choices that make a production truly transport you.
And Moulin Rouge! does all of it spectacularly.
The set is simply stunning. From the moment you walk into the theater, you are transported into another world, and the production never lets you go. You become completely invested in the story of these unlikely lovers who pour their hearts out through every lyric.
The choreography is especially wonderful—creative, energetic, and theatrical, while still feeling classic and beautifully grounded in the story. And the vocal work is magnificent. The leads are extraordinary, but what really impressed me was the strength and commitment of the entire supporting cast. Every character has a moment, a thought, a reaction—and those choices make the world feel alive.
There is plenty of schtick, humor, and sheer fun along the way, but the production never loses sight of the heart of the story. And then comes that poignant ending. The performances were so beautifully committed and emotionally honest that there were tears in the audience—and, yes, definitely some from me.
If you loved the movie, you will love this even more. It takes what you remember and turns it into something that can only happen in live theater.
It is heartbreaking to see this production end its Broadway run. What a gift it has been to audiences and to theater lovers.
I only hope that Moulin Rouge! finds its way into theaters across the country so that audiences everywhere can experience what happens when spectacular design, extraordinary performers, brilliant choreography, and a whole lot of theatrical magic come together.

Awesome show for theater lovers
"It was my first time seeing Moulin Rouge and it was absolutely phenomenal, beautiful, and wonderful. The cast/crew were amazing especially the talented Aaron Tveit who played Christian; powerful voice and great actor. It was my first time seeing him and I understand why he is so talented. The music, songs, and dancing were amazing and fun to listen, sing, and dance a little. Shedded tears came during some scenes especially between Christian and Satine with their beautiful love story. The ending with the bows was wonderful. Everything about the show was phenomenal and I enjoyed every moment of it. Very sad that is it closing at the end of August 2026 but I hope it will be revived in the future. If you’re in New York or visiting from elsewhere, definitely check out Moulin Rouge and you won’t be disappointed.

"I had seen the touring Moulin Rouge ~ 2 months before, but then heard that the show was closing on Broadway, so I had to see it before it went away. And I was lucky in that the date happened to correspond to when Aaron Tveit was starring as Christian one last time on Broadway! The theater was spectacular and the set was much more than the touring company. I could not ask for a better experience with cast and show!. So sad it is leaving Broadway!"
