First time seeing this show.
"In NYC for a holiday weekend and went to see a couple shows. One of the shows was Moulin Rouge. I wanted to see this show when it was touring and stopped in Orlando but I missed out. Now able to see it in NY I am spoiled i think. From the moment we walked into he theater the vibe was amazing and immerse. The music and lighting and stage put you in the mood. It was also cool once the performer started to come out.
Once the show started it was high energy and really got you in the mood for the show. Of course I am familiar with the film and I know this was inspired by that so not everything would mirror the film. The cast and set had me paying attention the entire time. All the main performers were great in their parts. costumes amazing, lights amazing, sound amazing.
The only 2 issues for me were the seats in the theater were small and tight but again that is NY as the theaters are old so I can deal with that. Also it was a bit warm but again it's winter and I kept some layers on as I had place to put them. Those are minor things.
I recommend this show to anyone who is a fan of the film or likes a good love story with good music. As for if kids should see it I think it depends on the age and what their parents want them to experience. No nudity or explicit stuff but a lot of diversity and clothing sparse but thats the point of the show.

Beautiful and heart wrenching
"The leads were perfectly cast, especially Zidler. Incredible music, beautiful sets, brilliant choreography. The only "negative" I have is prior to the show commencing, the cage dancers/music gave off a much more sensual vibe than I was anticipating (having booked tickets with my mother...). Luckily the show itself was wonderful, funny, perfectly done. Maybe just tone down the cage dancing a bit, haha. "
