British humor at its best
"Fast speaking, fast moving, jubilant performance.
Great characters clearly depicted through words and actions.
Clever writing, expert singing, overall appeal. The audience hummed in response throughout. Bravo!
Only reservation - children ears may not be fast enough."

Slow start big finish
"The first act was a little slow and in the “operatic” style of “Six” and so could be hard to follow if you don’t know the story. 2nd act brings it all together with a great finish. The cast was AMAZING!"

Well performed , cute interpretation of story
"It was a lively show with good song and dance numbers. However, it was hard to hear clearly the words in the mezzanine section and because of that it was hard to follow because some actors played multiple parts. As a result, some of the storyline was mottled and we were only able to get the gist of the story."

A merry, madcap romp through an invaluable moment in history.
"3 of the 5 actors in the performance I saw were understudies. Who knew?! They were funny and sharp, with impeccable timing and their interconnectedness was remarkable. The show’s writers were inventive, providing informative, but entertaining numbers with clever choreography and direction pulling it all together. Only suggestion is that there weren’t any truly hummable musical numbers to latch onto post show. "

Great entertaining history. And a lot of fun caricatures!
"Loved the actors, loved the singers and the songs and dances. And, having know the history since my father (a British officer who served in WWII) recounted it to me in the 1960s, I think the people actually involved in this risky deception would also have loved it. "

Very good.
"It was reviewed as “the best” and could not live up to expectations. It was good. Really good and cleverly staged. But I kept waiting for “the best.” The hype is unfair. But the play is great. "

A fun time in the theater.
"This show was a musical hoot-- 5 actors playing multiple characters with skill and aplomb. It concerns British intelligence's attempts at misdirecting the Nazis from a Sicily invasion in WW2. You do sometimes have to listen closely, as there are English accents and lyrics that go by very quickly. "

Slow start but worth it
"Biggest problem was understanding the British dialect. There were times we could not understand for several minutes. It took a bit to warm up to the show but it turned out to be very good. A little confusing separating the two brothers and their roles in the operation. AMAZING 5 voices! "

Great show with one minor thing
"My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the show! Amazed that 5 people played all the characters, did the set changes and quick costume changes. All five had great voices. We couldn’t agree on who was best. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars, was difficult to understand what they were saying at times, particularly at the beginning. "

Zany, Silly, High Energy Show
"This show reminds me a lot of Spamalot. Monty Python style silly humor, fun songs and dance. This is a fine show for young teens and older. Has a historical plot based on a World War II story. "

A good musical for people who are not into musicals
"My husband and I see a lot of theater, but neither of us is fond of musicals. After reading some reviews, we decided to take a chance on operation mincemeat. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The production is excellent and the acting is superb. We really enjoyed ourselves. "

Fresh and funny and historically important
"Learn about an event that was an important part of winning WW2 while being entertained with sharp dialogue, on the mark song lyrics, and great acting. Some in the cast actually wrote the book, lyrics and music for this show. Highly recommend."

Brilliant
"This musical is brilliant on so many levels. Having read the book many moons ago, I had no idea there was a musical lurking in there. What vision and creativity it took to put this little gem together. The casting, the story, the songs are all pretty much magical. I kept nodding my head as in, who thought this up? No notes. Engaging. Fun. Go."

Very Entertaining!
"I was concerned when a rap started early in the play, but it was mostly non-rap. There was a VERY powerful song/performance near the end of act 1. The applause was thunderous and long lasting. Many tears. Lot's of humor and a good story line."

This was very fun!
"While I don’t recommend this show for young children who might not understand it, I did enjoy this show very much myself! It was funny and the cast was brilliant. I would reccomend getting the assisted hearing devices as at some points the acoustics of the theatre made it hard to hear. But that could be due to where we were sitting."

About
Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical
The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse.
Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.
Bursting at the seams with the kind of chaos you couldn’t invent, the question is: how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and - of all people - Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler?
