Far more than I expected!
"The storyline was extremely interesting and enticed me into doing further research. The music and choreography was incredible but my favorite aspect was the way the actors (no spoilers!) were able to slip into every single role which definitely enhanced the story! Highly recommend! "

Joyful and Poignant!
"This was such a great show! The characters are well written but the cast is superb! The music was great. I think it is helpful to read about the story before seeing the show. We laughed and cried during the show which was exhilarating! I highly recommend seeing these talented actors perform a true story!!! "

A amazing feat!
"I went into this show knowing very little about it. What is accomplished with an on-stage cast of 5, with the costume changes and set changes, is truly a marvel. The songs were great. And I was thrilled to see Gerianne Perez as Montague! "

Incredible!
"I wasn’t sure how they were take something like operation mincemeat and create it into a musical comedy but they did it so incredibly perfect! The cast of 5 play many different roles and there is no confusing who are the playing, even when scenes change quickly. They are all genius level performers! Huge laughs throughout the entire show. Loved every second of this and would watch it again and again! "

Absolute delight from curtains up to finale
"Such a clever, feel-good show. The cast was phenomenal, every role perfectly played with great chemistry all around. Sharp storyline, creative, and full of surprises. It’s not always easy to balance humor with heart, but this one does it beautifully. If you get the chance to see it, go—you won’t regret it!"

Engrossing Musical
"The cast was great. It was hard to believe that five actors could span so many characters. Oh my gosh, how did they accomplish so many wardrobe changes. Must be lots of rip away outfits. The show will definitely leave you laughing and singing many of the songs as you exit the theater. "

Unexpectedly Wonderful
"I didn't know much about Operation Mincemeat other than it was based on a true story. I wondered how they would turn a WWII British counterintelligence mission into a musical. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was captivated, engaged, amused, and heartbroken in turn. What a fantastic use of a small cast and small stage. The incredibly talented actors were so versatile. The use of mobile set pieces was brilliant. My favorite moment in show was, without a doubt, Dear Bill. I was weeping by the end of the song and even now just thinking about it will bring tears to my eyes. I highly recommend this musical. You won't regret it."

script, actors, staging!
"Five actors, a few dozen characters, a simple plot and a dazzlingly complex staging! The most riotous male character is played by a woman, the most moving woman played by a man. It is amazing how the second world war keeps providing the basis of art, grueling to hilarious. It's also an important way of learning and remembering. This is an example of the exhilarating sort. Maybe one day we cn laugh at what we're going through now..."

Loved it!
"I especially enjoyed the unique British Form of humor! The posturing, the pseudo slapstick, and also the music! Wonderful show, & performances; Even a poignant love story! It was also a really funny treatment of a story in WWII, never told in this format. A serious topic, but gets the message across!"

The one thing I planned to see
"I really enjoyed the fun in this. I had read an in depth review in the N.Y. Times and knew I had to see it. I was not disappointed! Costumes, dancing, over-the-top performance. And moments where the performers bring the audience in. "

5 characters play a bushel of roles
"The many and varied roles played by only 5 people was a challenge, but the cast was more than up to it. How they continuously changed outfits and characters was amazing and hilarious. Sets and how they were moved around to change where the action was taking place was very clever. Voices excellent and dancing exuberant and fun. Top-notch!"

Very Very well done!
"The songs were great, the writing was great. It really had a true life British feel to it —very funny, but yet I was also quite touched by parts of it. So, I laughed and I cried. And the acting was really, really, GOOD! Go! You won’t be disappointed !"

Cast of 5 wows as if they were 50
"My daughter and I went to Operation Mincemeat during our recent trip to NYC because she’d heard a podcast about the true story of Operation Mincemeat- what? a corpse as a red herring helped the Allies invasion of Italy? Never heard of it before! I saw a few interviews with performers before the show so I knew a little of the backstory about the making of the show- not much of a budget and a cast of more characters than could be paid- so the just bought hats to allow 5 people play nearly 100 (that was what they said in the interview, but I thought it was more like 50- not that I was counting characters…) Great energy, fun performances, engaging story, good music, impressive costumes (& costume changes), and creative sets. It’s all there. I definitely want to see it again."

About Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical

The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse.

Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.

Bursting at the seams with the kind of chaos you couldn’t invent, the question is: how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and - of all people - Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler?
