"A miraculous musical that tells the entire story in a kind of accelerated farce that is part Mel Brooks, part SIX, part Hamilton with a side order of One Man, Two Guvnors."

"Hilarious tale makes Mincemeat out of its rivals...Before curtain I talked to a fan seeing this for the seventh time. I wondered why anyone would see the same show seven times. Now I know."

I laughed. I cried…
"Learning the plot of this play many months ago sparked my interest so much that I watched the drama of the same name. My curiosity sparked trying to imagine how this very serious story would be transformed to a musical comedy. The cast delivered! Loved it all! The music the dancing, the story! I recommend knowing the story prior."

Everything I could have hoped for!
"Amazing show. The talent of this cast is off the charts. The show kept me engaged for absolutely every minute. So, so funny. I have heard it compared to a Month Python-seque show. I’m not a fan of slapstick or overly-physical humor, but this show was smart, witty and funny. The music included a ballad that brought me to tears and showed me the range of the script and the cast. I heard a few people in the audience complaining that they couldn’t understand a lot of the songs; I was surprised to hear that and had no issues myself with hearing/understanding. Overall, this is a new favorite for me and highly recommend it!"

10, 10, 10...
"I am not an aficionado of musical theater by any stretch, but I have seen a fair number, particularly when I was much younger. I think this one is the best produced I have ever seen – the entire choreography and synchronization of singing, dancing, costume, and set, the talent of each cast members and the reception of the audience – WOW!! then there's the staff - TOP OF THE LINE!!! and, speaking of lines, most efficient bathroom break EVER!!!"

Very Funny & Entertaining
"The show was very funny and very well cast. I took my wife as part of our anniversary weekend and she loved it. We had two understudies and you wouldn't have known. Sam Hartley was especially great as Hester and others. We both highly recommend. "

Surprisingly entertaining
"Since this musical is based on an event during WW II I was not expecting it to be so entertaining. The War was treated with respect and many songs were very moving. "

A very humorous take on history.
"We thoroughly enjoyed the London cast that opened here in New York City. I had seen the movie sometime ago and found this to be a clever, recounting of a very important, but unknown, time in history of World War II. Each cast member was perfect in their delivery and abilities to sing and dance. I'd recommend the show to anyone who likes a good musical and especially anyone who is interested in history told in a manner that makes it easy to understand and appreciate."

An Inspiration and Delight
"Operation Mincemeat tells the story of British Intelligence’s heroic work against the Nazis. With a smart book, clever music and supremely gifted cast, this show fairly glows with humor, courage and optimism. A must-see for everyone with a brain, heart and conscience."

The Last Book Imaginable to Base a Musical on
"I loved the clever, fast paced change of setting and characters. I had read the book "Operation Mincemeat" by Ben MacIntyre years ago and thought it was the last book that could be adapted to a musical. I was pleasantly surprised. The musical is hilarious. I would love to see it again."

Wonderful show!
"Such a great show! The acting, the music, and the choreography were all incredible! Funny, sad and moving. Fast-moving, and hard to understand some of the words and lyrics, especially when the music was playing. Would have appreciate closed-captions, lol. But still loved it."

Amazing
"I have an aunt that lives in NYC, and I was thrilled to be able to take her to this show. The costumes, set, lighting, choreography, and prop movement all do a fantastic job of creating different locations, different moods, and different vignettes. The cast is IMMENSELY talented!!! The music is phenomenal, however the sound production within the theater space lets it down. We were sitting in the mezz, centered, but we were above the speakers that were being used. It made it more difficult to understand all of the amazing word-play within the music. I will still gladly rave about this show, recommend it to everyone, and buy the music to listen to more closely at home. As for kids, perhaps children >9yo? They need to be able to understand the history, that this was a real event, and that the ethical issues that are embedded in the humor are real. It can be a great, exuberant tool to use as an introduction to a larger conversation with them. So yes, kids, but not littles. AMAZING SHOW!!!!!!!"

Great show, Funny, catchy, history lesson.
"The cast of five played about 30 roles. The show is surprisingly accurate to history and pays tribute to the people involved. The show was well paced and staged. Although there were two understudies in our show they were superb. Highly recommend."

Hilarious!
"The actors and story were excellent, as was the music. Every once in a while, you get something that you weren’t expecting, an Operation Mincemeat fits that bill. We didn’t know what to expect, but what we got a wonderful theater experience. We now know why it had multiple Tony award nominations."

About Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical

The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse.

Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.

Bursting at the seams with the kind of chaos you couldn’t invent, the question is: how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and - of all people - Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler?
