A fun, light-hearted afternoon with a twist
"I enjoyed the show a lot! It's a cute story that seems predictable but then there is a deeper twist -- and daddy issues! Definitely fun and recommended for a night out on Broadway! Bring all your money if you want a drink during intermission, though; it's expensive!! "

Dreams of Experiencing a Great Broadway Play were Met
"The size of the theater was great, not to large and not too small. We had great seats in right orchestra area. Loved the interaction between the characters. Enjoyed the singing. At first I thought the stage was tiny but they made it work. While my hubby and I enjoyed the play and had lots of laughter, I would not recommend this play for kids under thirteen due to some of the language spoken. Most importantly, I have told my friends how I have truly enjoyed this New York Broadway play."

Laugh out loud script
"I really enjoyed this show. May moments of bursting out in laughter. I also found myself re-listening to the songs after the show. The set is kind of basic and unchanging but they found creative ways to make it feel like many different sets. The two cast members are incredible talented and easy to love. I would love to watch this one again."

What a fun Broadway Show!
"I came to NYC to visit my son and see a show for the very first time. This was an excellent choice - the songs were fun, the comedy hilarious and the actors superb! Glad I chose this one out of all the choices."

Incredible Dynamics Portrayed With Simplicity
"The absolute originality, character development, dynamic storyline and depth of heart that is contained within this two person cast demonstrates nothing more than an astounding experience. The music is incredible. The rotating stage of stagnicity displayed, is yet utlized in discoverable, unique and suprising ways, transportsing the viewer along the journey of lives crossing, suspending reality and allowing one to enter into a journey of two strangers who carry a cake across New York. There is nothing inappropriate specifically for children. However, the storyline may be a bit advanced and would bore them potentially leaving a lot of questions rather than a few hours of enjoyment. I highly recommend this production and look forward to seeing it again. "

A must-see!!!
"I’ve seen this show multiple times and somehow it gets better each other! How funny is it? I’m still taking off my glasses to wipe my tears from laughing so hard. Sam and Christiani are absolutely brilliant & I would pay anything to get a pro-shot recording of this show. Cannot recommend it enough. See it NOW"

Unexpected delight
"We saw the great reviews, but did not really know what to expect given the title. What a wonderful experience. We went on that walk with the cast and were mesmerized. Age range of our party of 5 was 26-65 and everyone enjoyed it! Incredibly clever and engaging writing, and Sam Tutty as Dougal, wow! I felt like I was watching a future superstar of stage and screen. But truly both actors were amazing (and Robin was performed by the understudy, Phoenix Best. She was so good too!) Highly recommend!"

Absolutely loved it!
"It’s hard to believe a whole musical could capture my attention (and my ten year old’s too) with only a cast of 2! Funny, charming, moving, it was just plain awesome. "

The funniest show I've attended
"Two Strangers was very funny, I didn't expect to laugh that much during a Broadway show. Christiani Pitts and Vincent Michael were talented- the delivery of their humor, emotion, singing, dancing, and their banter back and forth. Vincent Michael who played Dougal was the standby and he was fantastic! Can't imagine what it would be like if it was Sam Tutty. The stage was very cool, it spun in two directions and I especially loved how they used different sized suitcases as the set and contained the props. They had a 5-6 member band that was the perfect fit with the cast and set. It you're looking to be entertained, this is a show to see! "

Wow!
"I wish I could give this show 6 stars - absolutely fantastic! Great music, great acting, great plot with twists that kept us on our toes! One of my favorite moments was when someone in the audience audibly gasped and the actors had to pause to get it together because they were about to lose it!"

Great show. Loved it.
"Sam Tutty (Dougal) is very talented and entertaining. Christiani Pitts (Robin) had me at hello. Fell in love with her and her voice. I have only been to a handful of broadway shows so I’m a novice. My wife pulled me into attending the show. However, I know what I like and what entertains me and this show did. Hope you like this as much as I did."

About Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)

Fall in love with New York City again, or for the first time, at Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), now on Broadway. A New York Times Critics’ Pick, Two Strangers is “an effervescent new musical comedy that delivers lavishly on laughter, escape, and fantasy.”

You’ll meet Dougal, an impossibly upbeat Brit who has just landed in New York City for the first time to attend the wedding of the father he’s never met. And you’ll meet Robin, the sister of the bride and a no-nonsense New Yorker with a lot of errands to do for the bride—including picking up the groom’s estranged son from the airport. These two strangers begin their journey together navigating New York City, secrets, and second chances.

The Boston Globe proclaims, Two Strangers is “IRRESISTIBLE! Clever, funny, and delightfully surprising!”, and it has been named on the Best of 2025 lists from USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and New York Theatre Guide.

For lifelong New Yorkers and first-time visitors alike, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) sparks a renewed sense of wonder for the city, in what The Wall Street Journal’s Charles Passy hails as “a thoroughly beguiling ode to the Big Apple!”
