About Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
on Broadway
Everything you need to know about the show.
Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) is an uncommonly surprising musical about finding common ground. Tony Award® nominees Sam Tutty and Christiani Pitts star as Dougal and Robin, an unlikely pair who spend three life-changing days together in NYC. With a score of instant classics and a story that’s equally hilarious and heartfelt, Two Strangers is a completely original musical that “achieves something magical” (Vulture).
You’ll meet Dougal, an impossibly upbeat Brit who has just landed in New York City for the first time to attend the wedding of the father he’s never met. And you’ll meet Robin, the sister of the bride and a no-nonsense New Yorker with a lot of errands to do for the bride—including picking up the groom’s estranged son from the airport. These two strangers begin their journey together navigating New York City, secrets, and second chances.

Truly underrated show
"I first heard the opening number "New York" in YouTube last year, and I couldn't get the damn tune out of my head. Luckily, I had the chance to watch it last week. Even though I was darn disappointed that Sam Tutty was not playing Dougal - I was nevertheless satisfied with the performance.
I hope more people will watch this show. I feel that this is an underrated show - I didn't see much advertisement for this show in Times Square. It is a must watch for first timers in New York (like me). Watch this guys - you will enjoy it for sure."
