Unexpected delight
"We saw the great reviews, but did not really know what to expect given the title. What a wonderful experience. We went on that walk with the cast and were mesmerized. Age range of our party of 5 was 26-65 and everyone enjoyed it! Incredibly clever and engaging writing, and Sam Tutty as Dougal, wow! I felt like I was watching a future superstar of stage and screen. But truly both actors were amazing (and Robin was performed by the understudy, Phoenix Best. She was so good too!) Highly recommend!"

Absolutely loved it!
"It’s hard to believe a whole musical could capture my attention (and my ten year old’s too) with only a cast of 2! Funny, charming, moving, it was just plain awesome. "

The funniest show I've attended
"Two Strangers was very funny, I didn't expect to laugh that much during a Broadway show. Christiani Pitts and Vincent Michael were talented- the delivery of their humor, emotion, singing, dancing, and their banter back and forth. Vincent Michael who played Dougal was the standby and he was fantastic! Can't imagine what it would be like if it was Sam Tutty. The stage was very cool, it spun in two directions and I especially loved how they used different sized suitcases as the set and contained the props. They had a 5-6 member band that was the perfect fit with the cast and set. It you're looking to be entertained, this is a show to see! "

Wow!
"I wish I could give this show 6 stars - absolutely fantastic! Great music, great acting, great plot with twists that kept us on our toes! One of my favorite moments was when someone in the audience audibly gasped and the actors had to pause to get it together because they were about to lose it!"

Great show. Loved it.
"Sam Tutty (Dougal) is very talented and entertaining. Christiani Pitts (Robin) had me at hello. Fell in love with her and her voice. I have only been to a handful of broadway shows so I’m a novice. My wife pulled me into attending the show. However, I know what I like and what entertains me and this show did. Hope you like this as much as I did."

Spectacular!!!
"Such an amazing performance! Seeing a Broadway show has always been a dream of mine, this show was the perfect first. Dougal’s visit to New York was such an honest and hilarious reality to many of us tourists. Bonus, my husband begrudgingly tagged along, he laughed so hard he instantly asked when we are making another trip to New York for another show! The brilliant writing and the performers chemistry made this a show for the ages ❤️"

I traveled to New York to see this show!
"I was not disappointed by my choice in coming to New York for this show! The talent was outstanding, the tech was inventive and fun, the band was perfection, and the music was like listening to the soundtrack. I had only heard the songs so seeing the story play out was wonderful; especially because it was funny, sassy, sweet, charming and deep. It felt real! "

Inspired My First NYC Trip
"I saw Sam Tutty on Tik Tok singing New York and I knew I had to see this play. I have seen a lot of shows, but never on Broadway. I planned a trip with my sister and uncle who love theatre, all based on the social media I saw of Sam and Christiani. It was an incredible show. The music I already knew I loved, but I was blown away by their chemistry and the comedy. We were laughing the entire show! I was so excited for this show and it surpassed my expectations! Already planning a trip back to see it again! Also loved that Sam and Christiani came to stage door to sign and take pics!"

About Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)

Fall in love with New York City again, or for the first time, at Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), now on Broadway. A New York Times Critics’ Pick, Two Strangers is “an effervescent new musical comedy that delivers lavishly on laughter, escape, and fantasy.”

You’ll meet Dougal, an impossibly upbeat Brit who has just landed in New York City for the first time to attend the wedding of the father he’s never met. And you’ll meet Robin, the sister of the bride and a no-nonsense New Yorker with a lot of errands to do for the bride—including picking up the groom’s estranged son from the airport. These two strangers begin their journey together navigating New York City, secrets, and second chances.

The Boston Globe proclaims, Two Strangers is “IRRESISTIBLE! Clever, funny, and delightfully surprising!”, and it has been named on the Best of 2025 lists from USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and New York Theatre Guide.

For lifelong New Yorkers and first-time visitors alike, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) sparks a renewed sense of wonder for the city, in what The Wall Street Journal’s Charles Passy hails as “a thoroughly beguiling ode to the Big Apple!”
