Brought some sunshine to a very dreary, rainy day
"The show was recommended to me. I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I totally enjoyed it. The comedy, music and dancing.
Performers were top of the line! Loved the way the luggage carousel was used as props!"

Wonderful story and great performances!
""Dougal" has perfected the role that he has played in so many theaters, and "Robin" has an amazing voice and presence. They both brought a great story to life in an exciting and entertaining way.

You'll want to go back again!
"This show was funny, and the actors have such incredible stage presence they will become your favorites for sure! We even waited for a photo with Sam Tutty at the stage door afterward, and that's not something we ever do after a show. He was as warm and friendly in person as his character is on stage. Christiani Pitts is a perfect compliment to him and just as amazing. Together they are a remarkable, funny and loveable team!"
"This play is funny & poignant dealing with issues which are as timeless as they are relevant. It is beautifully acted by both characters. Heartwarming and fun. Your time and money will be well spent. "

Fantastic entertaining musical.
"This was a fantastic experiance. My wife and I from England together with our son and daughter in law who is from California all greatly enjoyed the show. The cast of 2 gave a remarkable performance with humour and catchy songs and what looked like a very simple set design (I'm sure it wasn't) greatly added to the whole effect. A truely memorable experiance."

Very entertaining, even for those who don't love musicals.
"This show was so entertaining and there was no time for boredom or yawns. I brought my husband to the show and he's somebody who generally doesn't love musicals and often falls asleep during the show. Not this time, he was wide awake and laughing the entire time. We also brought our teenage daughters and they loved it! First Broadway show for them was a win!"

20 stars for sure
"This is one of my all time favorite shows ever!! I saw clips online and decided I had to come to NYC from Chicago to see it and it was just as good as I dreamed it would be. Christiani Pitts and Sam Tutty were absolutely stunning in this! Their voices were perfection in this musical. Their chemistry was magical a once in a lifetime match. I never wanted it to end. As for kids? Maybe a little mature for young kids but older kids will love the music and the story! Thank you for giving us the most amazing evening and it was the absolute highlight of our trip. After the show the cast was so sweet and signed our playbills and chatted with us and were so kind. Those will be going on the wall as soon as I get home!! Do not miss this musical!! I will hopefully get to see it again!! "

What a wonderful show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Wit…fast pace…acting and music. Only reason to not recommend for children was sexual overtones and some language. Other than that a most enjoyable show and would highly recommend. "
"I loved the story line. Some of the plots were not obvious, you had to think about them before they hit you. Clever writing! Very very funny. Shows about family dynamics and relationships are timeless - this play made these dyamics feel very current.
The acting and singing were great! And being a 2-person play makes it even more fabulous!"

A fun, light-hearted afternoon with a twist
"I enjoyed the show a lot! It's a cute story that seems predictable but then there is a deeper twist -- and daddy issues! Definitely fun and recommended for a night out on Broadway!
Bring all your money if you want a drink during intermission, though; it's expensive!! "

Dreams of Experiencing a Great Broadway Play were Met
"The size of the theater was great, not to large and not too small. We had great seats in right orchestra area. Loved the interaction between the characters. Enjoyed the singing. At first I thought the stage was tiny but they made it work. While my hubby and I enjoyed the play and had lots of laughter, I would not recommend this play for kids under thirteen due to some of the language spoken. Most importantly, I have told my friends how I have truly enjoyed this New York Broadway play."

Laugh out loud script
"I really enjoyed this show. May moments of bursting out in laughter. I also found myself re-listening to the songs after the show. The set is kind of basic and unchanging but they found creative ways to make it feel like many different sets. The two cast members are incredible talented and easy to love. I would love to watch this one again."

Incredible Dynamics Portrayed With Simplicity
"The absolute originality, character development, dynamic storyline and depth of heart that is contained within this two person cast demonstrates nothing more than an astounding experience. The music is incredible. The rotating stage of stagnicity displayed, is yet utlized in discoverable, unique and suprising ways, transportsing the viewer along the journey of lives crossing, suspending reality and allowing one to enter into a journey of two strangers who carry a cake across New York. There is nothing inappropriate specifically for children. However, the storyline may be a bit advanced and would bore them potentially leaving a lot of questions rather than a few hours of enjoyment. I highly recommend this production and look forward to seeing it again. "

About
Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
Fall in love with New York City again, or for the first time, at Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), now on Broadway. A New York Times Critics’ Pick, Two Strangers is “an effervescent new musical comedy that delivers lavishly on laughter, escape, and fantasy.”
You’ll meet Dougal, an impossibly upbeat Brit who has just landed in New York City for the first time to attend the wedding of the father he’s never met. And you’ll meet Robin, the sister of the bride and a no-nonsense New Yorker with a lot of errands to do for the bride—including picking up the groom’s estranged son from the airport. These two strangers begin their journey together navigating New York City, secrets, and second chances.
The Boston Globe proclaims, Two Strangers is “IRRESISTIBLE! Clever, funny, and delightfully surprising!”, and it has been named on the Best of 2025 lists from USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and New York Theatre Guide.
For lifelong New Yorkers and first-time visitors alike, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) sparks a renewed sense of wonder for the city, in what The Wall Street Journal’s Charles Passy hails as “a thoroughly beguiling ode to the Big Apple!”
