"I was going to be in NYC for one night and knew I needed to see this show. It absolutely did not disappoint! The actors are so phenomenally talented, both in singing and acting, and the stage design was impressive! The story is l beautiful and original and was everything I hoped it would be. I laughed, out loud, more times than I thought I would.
This is the show of the season and I’m not surprised it was nominated for so many Tony’s, I’m just surprised it didn’t win any! "

So funny
"The lines were hysterical at times. Difficult topics were at times presented in a funny way. Excellent music and voices.
If you have hearing difficulties, do not
Sit in the first 5 rows. The speakers project (are aimed past that spot) so you might miss some lines which other patrons are clearly enjoying."

A delightfully funny evening
"We went into the show with only a passing knowledge of the plot and quick perusing of the songs online. We came away having had one of the more lighthearted and delightful evenings of musical theater that we've seen in a good while. The show is witty, poking fun at NYC visitors (which there are undoubtedly many on hand) without being insulting. The songs were well crafted and sung beautifully.
Highly recommend for a fun night of storytelling."

Charming, funny show
"Really charming show with two amazing actors. I was afraid with just two characters, I may not enjoy it. I was wrong. It's one of the best shows I've seen this year. "

Great dance and vocals - interesting plot twists
"The two actors who carry this show are equally wonderful. Both are great singers and dancers with an excellent sense of comic timing. The show was funny, engaging, heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time. The plot was deeper than I expected. I loved this show from start to finish!"

Mesmerizing
"So wonderful—would see it again! I went with a group of five friends from out of town to celebrate my 50th birthday and just loved it—from the clever set, to the talented musicians and actors, I sat there rapt. Charming, poignant story that made us laugh AND cry. Loved our seats up in the balcony with a direct view of the stage.
Only critique: The music was quite loud so I was grateful I’d brought my loop experience earplugs! Anyone with sensory issues might want to do the same."

Entertaining from opening note!
"This show was so good! Never a dull moment and stirred so many emotions. The two characters carried it through every second. Didn't want it to end. Incredible voices, clear to understand throughout. We were 2nd row, way up in balcony. Loved it! "

We need more originality like Two Strangers
"Witty, heartfelt, strong performances. I was hooked the entire time. The show didn’t need much in terms of stage set up and only two characters because that’s just how powerful the writing was. It helped me tap better into my imagination. "

Beauty in movement, song and message
"I can see why it was nominated for so many Tony Awards. The word that I would use to describe the totally of the play is "synced." It all worked together beautifully. The actors were individually outstanding and together they were seamless. The dialogue was wonderfully surprising and music was creative. The staging and the interaction of the actors with the props was like watching a Rogers/Astair movie. One of the best productions I have seen in a number of years."

Great fun empowering show
"The two actors were great - the story was intriguing - twist and turns with wonderful songs and touching moments that I think pretty much everyone in the audience could relate to in someway or another.
The best part was the interactive aspect of the whole thing with the audience and the actors, and everyone just being together celebrating going through this experience"

About
Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
You’ll meet Dougal, an impossibly upbeat Brit who has just landed in New York City for the first time to attend the wedding of the father he’s never met. And you’ll meet Robin, the sister of the bride and a no-nonsense New Yorker with a lot of errands to do for the bride—including picking up the groom’s estranged son from the airport. These two strangers begin their journey together navigating New York City, secrets, and second chances.
