The complete cast for the North American tour of Buena Vista Social Club is set. As previously announced, the tour will launch on September 12 at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre in Buffalo, New York.
Leading the company will be Karmine Alers as Omara, Frank Rodríguez as Compay, Mauro Castillo as Ibrahim, Robert M. Jiménez as Rubén, Isabel Gonzalez as Young Omara, Aidan Olmo as Young Compay, Jaleel Battles Jr. as Young Ibrahim, Irving Aday O’Connor as Young Rubén, San Miguel Pérez as Eliades, Liana Morales as Young Haydee and Holiday as Juan de Marcos. Erica Simone Barnett, Kwabena Bawuah, Armando Brydson, Jazlyn Carreras, Jhon Destrade, Adrían Guardián, Destinee Jimenez, Alex Llorca, Gabby Rembert, Ralphie Rivera de Jesús, Orgena Rose and Josh Tower round out the cast.
Alers’s Broadway credits include Rent, On Your Feet! and Beetlejuice. Rodríguez has appeared on television in Dexter: Resurrection, Blue Bloods and more. Castillo performed as the voice of Uncle Félix in Disney’s Encanto. Jiménez was most recently seen on Broadway in Twentieth Century. Gonzalez joins the tour after starring in the world premiere of Basura. Olmo makes his national tour debut with the company. Battles Jr. reprises the role of Young Ibrahim on tour after performing on Broadway. O’Connor is a Cuban pianist, composer and music producer. Pérez is a Latin Grammy-nominated artist. Morales also makes her national tour debut in the production. Holiday joins after performing in the recent New York Theatre Workshop production of Tartuffe.
The Buena Vista Social Club band will feature music director Nicolas Perez on piano, Abraham Dorta on guitar, Jorge Bringas on bass, Ray Contreras, Keisel Jiménez Leyva, Caleb Michel and Ivan Llanes Montejo on percussion, Roisel Suárez on trumpet, Ben Romanow on trombone, Joaquín Sosa on woodwinds and Marcos A. Torres III as the musician swing.

Directed by Saheem Ali with Tony Award-winning choreography by Patricia Delgado and Justin Peck, Buena Vista Social Club features a book by Marco Ramirez and music by the Buena Vista Social Club, with scenery by Arnulfo Maldonado, costumes by Dede Ayite, lighting by Tyler Micoleau, sound by Jonathan Deans and wigs, hair and makeup by J. Jared Janas.
Buena Vista Social Club was nominated for 11 Tony Awards in 2025, including Best Musical, winning four. The Broadway production is currently playing at the Schoenfeld Theatre.
