Broadway Grosses: Producers Give Thanks for Holiday Weekend; 10 Shows Top $1 Million

Broadway box offices got a much-needed boost over the long holiday weekend, with almost every show experiencing healthy jumps in grosses. Shrek the Musical, to name just example, doubled its grosses from the week before and set a single performance house record at the Broadway Theatre, grossing $184,320 for the matinee on Saturday, November 29. A total of 10 musicals topped the magic $1 million mark, including newcomers White Christmas which played nine performances, Billy Elliot and Shrek.
