The music was full of energy and soul!
"I loved it! The musicians were brilliant and I knew that I was watching men who loved every second and every note they played. To me, the story, which was very compelling, was secondary to the amazing music. "

Beautiful music that is so emotive, you don't have to know Spanish
"I don't know what they're saying, but I love the way they say it. It's a beautiful, sad story that has a satisfying, hopeful end. I judge musicals by how they make me feel and this show nailed it. I loved the music and dancing... everything was so tight and perfect."

Delightful musical sounds and engaging story line
"Loved the "Story to Tell" insert with the program. Would have liked to have the lyrics (in Spanish) of the staged songs as well as a translation (though I could get that from Google translate). May see if I can retrieve the lyrics on line."

Beautiful and soul touching
"The orchestration and deroulement of this story was made by a true weaver of words and acted out beautifully by all. The ultimate sacrifice to oneself can be many things, but this play shows the viewers that it should never be one’s convictions that we sacrifice to the pyre of self servitude. Soul stirring songs and professional heartfelt cast!"

A surprise show
"We loved this show! The singing, dancing and acting were superb. The actor/musician who played classical guitar was so outstanding. I could have listened to him play all afternoon. Costumes were lovely. The only suggested comment is that all the music was sung in Spanish. Maybe have the lyrics printed in the Playbill. We lost half of the story without knowing the meaning of the words. Still I would probably see it again! If you understand Spanish, run, don’t walk for tickets. You will be so surprised at how good The Buena Vista Social Club is!"

About
Buena Vista Social Club
It’s been years since legendary singer Omara Portuondo last entered a recording studio. Once known as the “Queen of Feeling,” her voice was celebrated throughout Cuba—until she vanished from the spotlight. But when an ambitious young record producer brings her a rare opportunity, the elusive diva must finally reckon with her past.
Hailed as a "jaw-dropping, soul-stirring must see" (The Washington Post), the Tony® and GRAMMY® Award-winning Buena Vista Social Club is a journey through music and memory into the beating heart of Havana. A world-class company brings the story of the iconic album to thrilling life in this tale of big dreams, second chances, and music that needs no translation.
