"This show was awesome! The only thing better than the music was the singing voices of the cast. As each one sang for the first time I was in awe, each one as good as the last or better! Best vocals of any show.. Ever.
"I have seen over 30 musicals and the musicians and cast of this particular night were the most talented of any show I have ever seen.. in the USA, London and Australia.
The band were next level tight!!!! And I loved that we could see them playing their instruments
The mother and the piano teacher vocally .. just wow!
The dancers were also incredible
I get the critics think the storyline is light .. it’s a coming of age in NYC but everybody can relate to either being a teenager or a parent of a teenager . It was quite emotional to see this in NYC as we’re visiting and had walked many of the neighbourhoods in the show. It made it all come to life. Honestly don’t. miss it. I wouldn’t recommend it for young children , not because there’s the odd swear word but it’s just not a kids show. In two words . Just go!!"
