A little bit of everything
"The show was very entertaining, fast moving and funny. The show had a little bit of everything, rapping, humor, glitter, a little bit of sadness and the cast was incredible! They all played multiple roles seamlessly. Highly recommend!"

Great Actors
"The actors were amazing. They were great actors, singers, and quick change artists. This presentation is totally different from the movie, but I recommend seeing the movie first. It helps to know the story ahead of time."

Brilliant
"This musical is brilliant on so many levels. Having read the book many moons ago, I had no idea there was a musical lurking in there. What vision and creativity it took to put this little gem together. The casting, the story, the songs are all pretty much magical. I kept nodding my head as in, who thought this up? No notes. Engaging. Fun. Go."

Very Entertaining!
"I was concerned when a rap started early in the play, but it was mostly non-rap. There was a VERY powerful song/performance near the end of act 1. The applause was thunderous and long lasting. Many tears. Lot's of humor and a good story line."

This was very fun!
"While I don’t recommend this show for young children who might not understand it, I did enjoy this show very much myself! It was funny and the cast was brilliant. I would reccomend getting the assisted hearing devices as at some points the acoustics of the theatre made it hard to hear. But that could be due to where we were sitting."

Superb Acting
"I was extremely impressed how the actors changed roles in a blink of an eye. The songs tied the story together but at times was difficult to follow because sung so rapidly Overall very entertaining "

Clever British Musical Comedy
"Although there are only five cast members, this hilarious romp, which came directly from London’s West End, is very well done! Each cast member is incredibly talented both in dialogue and song. This show is based on true events which took place during World War II. I listened to the cast album before I went and I think it might have been a little confusing if I hadn’t so I would highly recommend that you do that. It is very witty and funny and I would highly recommend it."

Fun, creative, insanely talented cast
"Who would have thought the story of an MI5 operations from WWII could be woven into a delightful musical? That’s Ooeration Mincemeat. Funny, clever, at times touching…it was a classic musical with a stellar cast."

a well done show
"The performers are extremely talented. They each play multiple characters and did so so seemlessly you would think there was a much larger cast. "

Great energy
"The actors’ timing was impeccable, which it had to be for such demanding roles. I had no trouble following the multiplicity of roles each actor played, which is more a credit to the actors than to me. “Dear Bill” deserves all the praise it has received. I had two objections. I had trouble understanding the lyrics of many of the songs, although the music as a whole was lovely. Second, the beginning of the second act was farcical, somewhat reminiscent of “Springtime for Hitler,” except it wasn’t funny. The ending was bizarre but ultimately satisfying. Finally, seeing the actors having such a fun time performing was worth the price of admission."

Wild and creative theatre
"A small cast of 5 creates suspense, chaos and insight into an incredible WWII deception. It's a wild and crazy ride that results in helping to win the War & tick Hitler. Great singing and acting! "

Smart, hilarious, irreverent, moving
"This is an extremely clever show about an actual historical event that is stranger than fiction. The dialogue, music, lyrics and choreography are all spot on and the cast are incredibly talented. Starts off a little slow but ends with a bang. Highly recommend."

Great fun!
"My husband and I saw this musical at yesterday’s matinee. I loved it and had a rollicking good time. My husband, however, did not care for the English style of farce. I mention this because while it is a lot of fun, the style of humor is not for everyone. Just something to consider. "

Clever, comic history
"While based on actual history, Operation Mincemeat shared of folks doing their bit for the war with their own tics and isms, with almost slapstick, clever humor, some kitsch, and a few poignant moments. Great fun!"

Real History!
"The actors were superb. The dialog was so clever and funny. One issue--because the dailog was so quick it was difficult to understand. Others in the audience felt the same way. "

Operation Mincemeat. Strange title but great show!
"The players, only 5 of them, played multiple parts, both male and female and were spectacular. The show was bright and funny, and I would recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor."

The British slapstick humor gets old fast.
"The British style slapstick humor gets old very quickly. So I was ready to leave at intermission. But glad I stayed because good ending to the story. Lots of talented actors on the stage with great energy. "

Fast paced and very good
"The first ten to fifteen minutes were off-putting for me and I did not think I would like it. Character development, getting use to the fast paced dialogue and the performers playing many different characters. But once I adjusted and became comfortable, understanding how this was working it was fantastic. The characters switching hats so often was fun and showed their range. The story telling was wonderful, but we did not catch all the dialogue (fast paced). Liked the moments of tongue and cheek scenes. What made it very good was it was based upon a true story, which we were aware of prior to the show. We recommend this show."

Amazing Performance Only Marred By Sound
"That five actors showed so such versatility and energy over the length of the musical was impressive. Our only complaint was it was hard to understand the words of the early songs. It was if the mics were off or orchestra too loud."

About Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical

The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse.

Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.

Bursting at the seams with the kind of chaos you couldn’t invent, the question is: how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and - of all people - Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler?
