Understudies RULE
"Brandon Cantares went on as Charlie...the lead and was fabulous. This is a very funny show based on the movie Mincemeat...this is not the movie but a funny take on it. Totally worth seeing."

A small cast with BIG talent
"This show was a joy to be a part of. It was a skillfully woven mixture of energy, comedy and pathos. I thought that both the set and lighting designs were absolutely fabulous. And who can possibly listen to Jak Malone singing "Dear Bill" without shedding a tear. It is an experience that will prove to be an enduring Broadway moment. Kudos to all responsible. Well done indeed."

Delightfully unique
"Great cast giving outstanding performances. Perhaps not what one would expect as a “musical” A wonderful time. (Not sure children would understand some of the humor)"

Delightful
"5 actors take you on a wonderful ride through the story of Operation Mincemeat. Playing countless zanie characters, they recreate a historic WW II event with wit and charm without diminishing the significance of the actual historical event. It zips along and you will laugh a lot. It's just excellent. If not for Maybe Happy Ending, it would have won the Tony for best musical. Any other year, it would have."

Absolutely brilliantly casted, directed, produced.
"Loved every bit of the production, especially with how the sets were cleverly adapted to support each segment of the story. As were the amazingly talented five cast members, loved all five of their talented abilities with each of the roles they played. OM is perfectly casted, don’t change a thing! Bravo!"

Marvelous!
"A great musical re-imagining of a critically important secret mission in WWII. Certainly dead serious at the time it’s now infused with music, dance, and even comedy while celebrating and honoring such meaningful exploits! "

So entertaining and timely
"Operation Mincemeat was a laugh out loud, great time while also being incredibly moving and timely. The 5 cast members were outstanding and I truly do not know they keep up that energy show after show. We also loved the incredibly clever staging. We recommend getting an overview of the actual WW2 operation this was based on to help you enjoy the show. We went with our history buff grown son who gave us the details in advance which really helped! Congratulations! Brilliantly done!"

A wonderful show
"I didn't know what to expect walking into the theater. I read the The Man Who Never Was over 40 years ago and didn't know how they could turn this spy thriller into a musical. I was thrilled with the results. It was funny, it was well acted, it was moving. The song Dear Bill was so moving and there was a two minute ovation from the audience at the end of the song. I especially appreciated the balance between the singing and orchestra. I had just been to a Disney show the night before where the orchestra was too loud and drowned out the voices on stage. I appreciated being able to hear the singers. Some of the material wasn't necessary in my opinion (Das Ubermensch) and there were a few too many patter songs where I couldn't catch all the words. But the overall production was one of the best shows I have ever seen on Broadway. "

"Leave it to the British to find musical comedy in a daring, true tale of WWII subterfuge. And Jak Malone reduces the entire house to tears with his performance of 'Dear Bill'. A complete delight."

About Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical

The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse.

Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.

Bursting at the seams with the kind of chaos you couldn’t invent, the question is: how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and - of all people - Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler?
