Run do not walk to see this play!
"I went in with high expectations and not only did it not disappoint, it exceeded them. Brilliant choices for the actors. Great stage production and use of space. Really loved the music and it brought me right back to the 1970s. True to the movie. Honestly, one of the best plays I’ve ever seen."

Bernthal steals the show in this play based on a real-life botched robbery
"Just saw the play during the preview period on 3/14. Jon Bernthal has “Sonny” already locked-in despite only day 4 of preview performances. His talent shown on the screen is displayed exponentially live on stage. Set design was top notch and beyond creative. Humorous moments in the play had the entire audience laughing and the pop music interludes made transitions seamless. This is a must-see."

Jon Bernthal Nails It
"Attended the first preview on Tuesday 3/10 with my wife. Jon Bernthal as Sonny carried the performance and was spot on with his lines and pacing. The second act dragged a bit, and there are likely some small trims to be done to keep the pacing brisk."

About Dog Day Afternoon

Step back into the sweltering summer of 1972, New York City—a time when the Vietnam War looms large, Watergate headlines flood the news, and one man's desperate act captivates the nation.  A Brooklyn bank hold up quickly goes wrong, and with each gut-wrenching twist that unfolds, chaos ensues that ignites the city as they follow the actions of a man on the edge. Dog Day Afternoon is a raw, gritty reminder of what happens when passion and desperation collide.
