Story

For most of us, the idea of reliving high school is nothing short of a nightmare. When Romy and Michele are invited to their ten year high school reunion Michele envisions the whole experience as a fun road trip, while Romy, very reluctantly, agrees to go but only if they come up with something to impress their classmates. To this end the two hatch an outrageous scheme to totally re-invent themselves. With an ’80s and ’90s pop-inspired score, Romy & Michele: The Musical is an absolute feel-good joyride.

So Much Fun!
"My BF and I saw this show during a girls weekend in NYC and loved it! It was our favorite movie in highschool and we felt the show was very true to the original movie. It exceeded our expectations! So much fun and nostalgic. The cast did an amazing job and we felt it was a Broadway level production even tho it's technically off Broadway. A perfect show to see with your girlfriends or daughter. Would be perfect for middle schoolers and up but younger girls would enjoy it too. Don't miss this amazing show!!"

Fun!
"It was nostalgic - same as movie...it was a really fun girls day out and we liked that we were able to take pictures in the photo display, write notes on post-its and send a postcard. "

Nostalgic Fun
"This was fun- nicely done with original music and just enough from the movie to have the nostalgia and yet some surprises. The cast was very talented and the music fun, choreography and staging was "awesome" and the whole audience left smiling. It was nice to see an uplifting show and the leads were just the right chemistry to make their friendship the right backdrop for a fun ride. We enjoyed the original score and the dance moves were really great. I would recommend this and hope it gets recognized for a Broadway run."

Blended 1990s Camp
"I had a great time. The two leading ladies had beautiful voices. Loved the post-its song. It was fun and snappy with a light-hearted and simple story. The right amount of 90s references and camp! "

Recaptures the magic of the movie
"Romy & Michele's High School Reunion struck a chord with Millennials with its bright and colorful aesthetic, its messaging about the importance of being true to yourself, and the irresistible chemistry of Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow. How does the stage version stack up with the film? I'd say about pretty much on par. The chemistry between our two Leads is still there, the side characters are lots of fun, and the songs are very entertaining. While I'm not entirely sure it will enjoy the same cultural resonance as last year's Death Becomes Her, Romy & Michele wears its lighthearted tone on its sleeve and serves as a very fun night at the theater.
