Great show
"Excellent and heartfelt performances from the cast, beautiful arrangements of the Avett Brothers’ songs, and an entertaining show all around. I felt privileged to see this show on closing night, however, I wish it didn’t have to close. "

Blown away by Swept Away!
"Swept Away tells a tragic tale of a shipwreck and four survivors of the wreck who are haunted by the circumstances. The music is by folk Americana artists The Avett Brothers. The score comes from songs across their catalog - energetic, poignant, and just lovely. "

Great musical
"My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The set design, music and performers were fantastic. The lighting truly changed the moods accordingly. Would highly recommend seeing this show. It takes a dark turn but overall walked out feeling good. "

I wish everyone could see this amazing show
"The performers have been described as stellar, stunning, a revelation, man eye candy and just dang captivating! The brilliant set and fabulous score by the Avett Bros. just adds to the "marvelousness". I loved everything about this show except that I'm too far away to see it a second time... unless everyone gets tickets now and it gets extended! "

Amazing (but admittedly not for everyone)
"The NYTimes’ “masculine eye candy” quote is spot on. The music is stellar and performed by stellar actors. The harmonies are out of this world. The imagery is beautiful. The shipwreck scene is just stunning. And it leaves you with strong emotions that keep turning in your head. The darkness of it, set to contemporary/rock-ish music, calls to mind Spring Awakening. Different themes and subject matter, but similar impact. I wish I could see it 80 more times "

Including Avett Brothers songs such as “No Hard Feelings,” “Murder in the City” and “Ain’t No Man”, Swept Away is inspired by the Avett Brothers’ 2004 concept album Mignonette, which was itself inspired by the story of the 1844 shipwreck of that name.
