You know the story of the Underground Railroad that ran North—but this show takes you on the path that ran South, revealing the untold journey of thousands who escaped slavery by crossing the Rio Grande into Mexico. Called “thrilling” by The Washington Post and “genius in motion” by the San Francisco Chronicle, this groundbreaking theatrical experience follows a freedom seeker and an unlikely ally as they forge a remarkable bond that transcends borders.

Mexodus is aggressively excellent
"This show actually felt like we'd found a hidden gem and since seeing it, my friends and I can't stop recommending it to people. It is an important and compelling story told with a wealth of talent and creativity. Both performers had the most outstanding voices, and impressive ability to play several instruments that came together with the live looping and mixing in real time. The set is simple, yet so well organized and effective in transforming when needed. I believe this show may be one of the only Tuesday matinees available to see in the city, which makes it a great option for those wanting to see as much as possible... though Mexodus is a must-see regardless the day of the week.
(Side note: The theatre chairs are not super comfortable, but tolerable for the duration of the show)"

Best musical I've ever seen
"My girlfriend and I have a "two block rule" when we see shows: wait till we're two blocks away to share our opinion so that no one else hears us talking if we didn't like it. When the show ended, the first thing she said was "two block rule doesn't apply" and I said, "Good, cause if you didn't like this show, I'm dumping you right now."
This was the most incredible musical I've ever seen in my life. The sheer musical talent and energy of these two remarkable performers is reason enough to see it, but the urgency of telling this chapter from history at this particular moment makes it even more compelling.
Incredible sound design, lighting design, use of projections - truly, I've never seen a show like this in my life and I can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic powerhouse of a show!
"This was a stunning, powerful show. The amount of creativity, energy, and talent put into telling a little known part of history was completely captivating. We brought our 14 year old theater kid and she loved it too. I think it’s most appropriate for 13+ as younger kids may not understand fully what is being taught and the language and story are rightfully graphic. Get off Broadway and don’t miss this show! "

"Maybe the most musically gifted performers I've ever witnessed live. Such an interesting story too - energy that will stick with you long after you exit the theatre and music that will stick with you forever."

Opens a new part of American Story
"A lot of talent on display as the two performers find a fresh and engaging way to spin this story of a Mexican who lost his land and spirit and a runaway slave, and how they free each other. The music and vibe is a must. Timely!"

A superb play all around
"Loved the dynamic interaction between the two actors portraying through song, music and dialogue the history of the underground railroad to Mexico via The Rio Grande for African Slaves.
Too bad the play cannot be extended as more people would want to see it as word of mouth is given Mexodus glowing reviews.!!!!!!!
