About Chess on Broadway

Everything you need to know about the show.

The Story

Chess is the iconic musical where power and passion collide, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s America versus Russia at the World Chess Championship, where the espionage and romance are as complicated and exhilarating as the game itself. For the two players and the woman torn between them, everything—personal, professional, and political—is at risk… and nobody’s rules are the same.

Glad I finally saw it!
"The performers were all top notch. The writing was point on and perfectly executed. I enjoyed the band on the stage. The set was amazing, grant it was very minimalist. I am sad it is closing so that more people don’t have the opportunity to see it. The house was full, only real negative was the size of the seats in the theater. "

Chess was terrific !!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"Great story with great actors to tell it through their music and dance. Every cast member was terrific and I can say the same for the orchestra, production team and director. Hate to see it closing as I would definitely see it again. Well Done to all involved."

Incredible!!
"I absolutely loved it! The story gripped me, the songs were incredibly catchy, and the dialogue was hilarious but also deep and intense. I went in knowing nothing about it and left fully in love. One of my new favorite performances- and Aaron, Lea and Nik all made it a jaw-dropping experience. I laughed, I gasped, I cried, and I desperately hope I get to see it performed again one day."

Chess moves you
"Chess is an absolute must-see. Whether you're a seasoned theatergoer or stepping into a Broadway house for the first time, this production delivers on every level. The storyline — a Cold War chess match that becomes a deeply human story of ambition, love, and divided loyalties — is as gripping as it is timely. The stage design is stunning, the performances are powerhouse across the board, and the score is simply extraordinary. One of those rare evenings where everything comes together perfectly. Highest possible recommendation."

Amazing rendition with songs very faithful to the original
"The performances were amazing, and the show had more humor than I expected. Nicholas Christopher's voice is just off the charts amazing. The only reason I don't recommend this for children is that there is a decent amount of adult language in the show. "

Love Chess and amazing Lea Michele!
"The music and the orchestra was great. The voices of all actors were amazing, the dancers did a great job. It was a little bit cold in the theater. But we had a great night. "
