Alex Brightman most recently starred as Josh in the Kennedy Center’s stage adaptation of Apple TV’s Schmigadoon!, a role he will soon reprise on Broadway. He received Tony and Drama League Nominations for starring as Beetlejuice in the Tony-nominated musical adaptation of Beetlejuice, directed by Alex Timbers. His breakout role starring as Dewey Finn in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical adaptation of School of Rock garnered him Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Astaire Award Nominations. Other select stage credits include Spamalot (Broadway & Kennedy Center), The Shark is Broken (Broadway), and Assassins (Encores! Off Center). On television, Alex can currently be heard in a pivotal role on Vivienne Medrano’s hit A24/Amazon animated series Hazbin Hotel. Other notable credits include The Blacklist, The Good Fight, Law & Order: SVU, Documentary Now!, Helluva Boss, and Dead End: Paranormal Park.

Sara Chase most recently starred as Melissa in the Kennedy Center production of Schmigadoon!. Prior to that she originated the role of Myrtle Wilson in the Broadway production of The Great Gatsby and can be heard on the recently released cast recording. She is best known as molewoman Cyndee Pokorny on all four seasons of Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s hit Emmy nominated Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: The Interactive Special. She also starred as Sasha Reed in the first ever musical episode of The Simpsons. Ayaan Diop is thrilled to make his Broadway debut at 9 years old. He recently starred as Carson in the Kennedy Center’s Schmigadoon! Notable credits: Blaze & The Monster Machines, The Doctor Is In and Wonder Pets: In the City. He is the beloved main character of two children’s books: I Am Smart, I Am Blessed, I Can Do ANYTHING! and I Am Amazing! He dedicates this performance to his Grandpa, with gratitude to God and his family.

McKenzie Kurtz recently starred in the new musical Schmigadoon! at the Kennedy Center. She made her Broadway debut as Anna in Frozen shortly after graduating from The University of Michigan. She starred as Glinda in the 20th Anniversary of Wicked on Broadway and originated the role of Cassandra in Broadway’s The Heart of Rock and Roll. Other theater credits include Trading Places (The Alliance), Footloose (The Muny), and Female Troubles (Williamstown). Maulik Pancholy has been seen as Jonathan on the Emmy^®, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award-winning NBC comedy 30 Rock, Sanjay on Showtime’s award-winning series Weeds, and Neal on the NBC comedy Whitney. He has recurred and guest starred on numerous other television shows including The Good Fight, Dynasty, Elementary, Star Trek: Discovery, The Good Wife, Web Therapy, and The Comeback. He was last seen on Broadway in It’s Only A Play, and recently played Off-Broadway in the New Group’s production of Good for Otto. Other theater credits include the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway productions of Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom (The Culture Project) and Aunt Dan & Lemon (The New Group), and the New York productions of The Awake (59E59 Theaters), India Awaiting (Samuel Beckett Theater) and The Happy Sad (SPF at The Public). Regional credits include Studio Theatre, Shakespeare Theater Company, Yale Rep, Shakespeare Festival Los Angeles, The Goodman, and the Mark Taper Forum. On the big screen, Pancholy has appeared in films such as 27 Dresses, Friends with Money and Hitch as well as several independent features. He is the voice of the title character of Sanjay on Nickelodeon’s hit animated series Sanjay & Craig and the voice of Baljeet on Disney’s Emmy^® award-winning Phineas & Ferb. Pancholy has shared the Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Ensemble four times – three times with the cast of 30 Rock (winning in 2009) and once with the cast of Weeds. He served on President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and he is the co-founder of the anti-bullying organization acttochange.org. His debut novel The Best at It comes out October 8, 2019 from Balzer + Bray / HarperCollins.
