John Cameron Mitchell grew up all over the US and Europe as the son of an American Army general and a Scottish painter/teacher. He has been directing, writing and performing for stage, screen, television and podcast for over 40 years. He studied theater with Frank Galati at Northwestern University (1981-5) and subsequently co-wrote the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch that Rolling Stone called “the best rock musical ever,” and for which he won a 1998 Village Voice Obie Award, the 2014 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical and a 2015 Special Tony for his performance. He wrote/directed/starred in the film adaptation which the New York Times called one of the “Top Ten Films of 2001” and for which he won the Best Director and Audience Awards at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and a 2001 Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy and 17 other awards. John wrote and directed the 2006 sexually frank, improv-based film Shortbus which premiered in Cannes’ Official Selection and won multiple festival awards as well as a nom for Best Ensemble from the Gotham Awards. His 2010 film Rabbit Hole, adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, gained him a Best Director nom at the Independent Spirits, and a Best Actress Oscar nom for Nicole Kidman. He directed and co-wrote the YA punk romance film How to Talk to Girls at Parties (2017) starring Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman. He executive-produced (with Gus Van Sant) Jonathan Caouette’s Tarnation (2004) which won Best Documentary from the National Society of Film Critics. John is a founding member of the Drama Department Theater Company for which he adapted and directed Tennessee Williams’ Kingdom of Earth starring Cynthia Nixon and Peter Sarsgaard. Other Broadway acting credits include the original casts of The Secret Garden (Drama Desk nom), Six Degrees of Separation and Big River. Off Broadway: The Destiny of Me by Larry Kramer (1993 Obie Award for Best Actor, Drama Desk nom), and Lincoln Center’s Hello Again (Drama Desk nom). Film acting work includes: Spike Lee’s Girl Six, Michael Mann’s Band of the Hand, Book of Love, Misplaced. TV roles: Girls, The Sandman, Shrill, The Good Fight, Yellowjackets, Mozart in the Jungle, Vinyl, MacGyver, Head of the Class, The Equalizer, The Twilight Zone, The Stepford Children and as a series regular in Party Girl, City on Fire, and as Joe Exotic in Joe Vs Carole. He wrote and directed two fictional podcast series: the autobiographic musical Anthem: Homunculus (2019) called “a hallucinatory masterpiece” by Rolling Stone, starring himself, Glenn Close, Cynthia Erivo, Patti Lupone and Laurie Anderson; and Cancellation Island starring Holly Hunter. He is a DJ/founder of the long-running Mattachine Dance Party and released the collaborative music albums New American Dream Pts. 1&2, and Turning Time Around. He remains active on the concert circuit with The Origin of Love - The Songs and Stories of Hedwig, Cassette Roulette, Blackstar Symphony and Queen Bitch - John Cameron Mitchell Sings Bowie. John is a former fellow of the Sundance Institute Filmmaker Labs and has represented the Institute as a screenwriting advisor in Brazil and Peru. He received the 2007 Dorothy Hirshon Award for Cinematic Achievement from New School University and the 2019 Excellence in Acting Award from the Provincetown Film Festival. For his work on gay/trans rights he received the New York State Senate Democrats’ 2004 Special Human Rights Award. He is presently working on LSM, his new play about artist Claude Cahun and two biopics (about Allen Ginsberg and AIDS activist Peter Staley), as well as teaching “Problemagic Cinema,” a film course at University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.

John-Andrew Morrison is an award winning actor living and working in New York City. John-Andrew received a Tony Award Nomination, a Lucille Lortel Award and an OBIE Award for his work in the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical A Strange Loop (Broadway and Off Broadway at Playwrights Horizons / Page 73). He is an Outer Critics Circle Honoree for his performance in the Off Broadway premiere of Blues for an Alabama Sky (KEEN Company). John-Andrew spent many years working at La Mama with George Ferencz as a member of The Experimentals working on readings, workshops and productions of around 80 new plays. With The Experimentals, he recently played Medea in the remount of the H.M. Koutoukas tragi-camp Medea of the Laundromat at La MaMa with The Lucille Lortel Theater. He did several plays with The Classical Theater Of Harlem, including the OBIE Award winning The Blacks - A Clown Show, Caligula with Andrè De Shields and the New York Times Critics Pick hit show Malvolio. John-Andrew recently did the world premiere of the new musical 3 Summers of Lincoln at The La Jolla Playhouse and featured on the Freakonomics podcast. John-Andrew's work has been seen internationally and regionally at theaters including The Hartford Stage, Baltimore Center Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, A.R.T., Center Theatre Group, A.C.T.  and more. John-Andrew holds a BA in Theater Arts from Brandeis University and an MFA in Acting from UC San Diego. He is a member of the Actors Center. 

Simu Liu made history as the star of the first Asian-fronted movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Destin Daniel Cretton’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which garnered him the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Action Movie Star. For five seasons, Liu starred in the CBC/Netflix comedy series Kim’s Convenience, which won the ACTRA Awards for Outstanding Ensemble in 2017 and was also nominated for the same award in 2018. Kim’s Convenience also went on to win the award for Best Comedy Series at the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards. The first Canadian television series with an all-Asian lead cast, the series chronicles the day-to-day micro-dramas encountered by a Korean immigrant family that runs a corner grocery store. Liu’s first major role was on the critically acclaimed OMNI crime drama Blood and Water, the first trilingual series (English, Mandarin, and Cantonese) produced by Canadian television, for which he received nominations at the ACTRA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards. Aside from his performance on screen, Liu participated in the writing room for the series by contributing in the show’s second season as a story editor and as the main writer for one episode. In 2023, he starred in Warner Bros.’ highest grossing film Barbie directed by Greta Gerwig and starring opposite Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and in the Focus Features thriller Last Breathopposite Woody Harrelson. Liu will star in and executive produce the espionage thriller The Copenhagen Test for Peacock in December, collaborating with James Wan and Atomic Monster. Up next, Liu will star in Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, reprising his iconic role as Shang-Chi. The highly anticipated film is scheduled for release in December 2026. His other film and television credits include Netflix’s animated film In Your Dreams opposite Cristin Milioti, Amazon’s action-comedy Jackpot from director Paul Feig opposite John Cena, Netflix’s science fiction thriller Atlas opposite Jennifer Lopez, Lionsgate’s Arthur the King, HBO Max’s The Other Two, ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, NBC’s Taken, and Amazon’s The Expanse. Liu’s New York Times Bestselling memoir, We Were Dreamers: An Immigrant Superhero Origin Story, was released by HarperCollins in 2022.

Jenn Harris is an award-winning writer, director, actor, and producer. She originated the role of Clarice Starling in Silence! The Musical, won a Lortel and Theatre World award for her performance in Modern Orthodox, and was in the revival of All In The Timing. Film & TV credits: American Fiction (Oscar '24), High Maintenance, Elsbeth, Search Party, 30 Rock, Gayby, Difficult People, Younger, Bored to Death. She wrote, directed and starred in the short film She's Clean, her co-created series NEW YORK IS DEAD premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and won Best Comedy at the New York Television Festival, and she co-directed the short Island Queen starring Rachel Dratch and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. She wrote My Name is Karen! and Snitchfor Theaterworks Hartford. Jenn is also a member of the Ryan Murphy Half Initiative Directing Shadow Program.

Cole Escola (they/them) is a comedian, actor, and writer. They’ve received a Drama Desk Award, a Theatre World Award, and two Outer Critics Circle Awards for Oh, Mary! and they’re thrilled to be making their Broadway debut with the show. Notable TV includes: Search Party, At Home with Amy Sedaris, Difficult People (on which they also wrote), Man Seeking Woman, Mozart in the Jungle, and Ziwe (for which they were also a writer). Cole consulted on Hacks for HBO and also wrote for The Other Two for Comedy Central. They were the co-creator, writer, and star of the lo-fi cult-hit TV show Jeffrey and Cole Casserole, and were named one of Vanity Fair's “25 Best Performances of 2023" for their special Our Home Out West, and “Best Sketch Comic of 2020” by the New York Times for their special Help! I’m Stuck!, which they filmed alone in their apartment during quarantine. Both self-produced specials are available on YouTube
