The winner of the Tony Award® for Best Musical is The Outsiders. This classic coming-of-age story takes you to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967, where Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, and their family of Greaser “outsiders” dream about who they want to become in a world that will never accept them. The Outsiders features a “tuneful and soul-bearing” (New York Stage Review) original score, “high-octane choreography” (New York Magazine), and a “sensational young cast” (The Wall Street Journal) that brings the show to life.

Outstanding
"I absolutely loved this production!!! It was a dream come true to travel from Melbourne Australia to see this in NYC and it did not disappoint. From the performance to the stage setting, I could not say a bad word as it was so moving, it brought me to tears. Outstanding in every way and highly recommend!!!"

Followed the Book
"I read The Outsiders in junior high which was a long time ago and I was intrigued to see it as a musical. It was recommended to us by friends in education. The story was pure 1960's but it stood the test of time. It is a very serious play so not sure I would take young children. The acting and singing voices of the cast were excellent."

O!M!G!
"If you've never read the book or even watched the movie... it's ok! They do both justice! This was the absolute best ever! Entertaining all the way through! This was my first Broadway Show so this was an awesome pick! To be honest you can sit anywhere in the theater and enjoy it just the same in my opinion! I laughed. I cried! I gasped....I didn't want it to end! The only thing I wish is they'd let us pull out cameras out at the end to take a Pic of the cast bowing! Other than that, I have no critiques...PS the show I attended did not have the original lead... his understudy did an amazing job!!! The singing was phenomenal! Ok that's enough... but I could go on forever! "

A great show!
"Loved this performance, couldn’t stand the audience - lots of screaming from girls when the male leads came on stage and throughout the show. It got old quick. I hope that was just the one night I was there.
The performance was excellent. This was a large cast with the socs and the greasers and they were all incredibly talented. Lots of cool effects on stage that I’ve not seen at other shows. Highly recommend. "

WOULD WATCH AGAINN
"Outsiders was my fav book and movie growing up but the musical was a whole other level! The actors were amazing. The acting and singing! Their voices were so nice i wanted to keep hearing them sing. I also never really cry in musicals but the way they expressed some of the scenes made me feel the emotions. I came back home and could not stop talking about ittt! My fav character has always been sodapop and i can safely say that thats never gonna change after watching this musical!!"

Great over all musical
"Visuals, sound, songs, and performers were amazing. Not a bad seat in the house either, we were last row top center, and thought the view was great. In a similar vein to West Side Story / Grease but I prefer this to those 100%. Great pace and length of the play too. Great for first timers, easy to follow along with the story and the songs are catchy, almost pop, and not overly "musical theater".
We took our 11 year old, we had no issues, there is some language, 1 F, several Sh!ts and lots of GDs. Violence is really well done with sound and lighting, not gruesome. Content is heavy without being disturbing or scaring. Parents know their kids best, so hope that helps!"

Great play for young and old audiences alike!
"Great to see the outsiders playing to a younger generation while still bringing a classic novel back to life for older audiences like myself. Fantastic performances by the cast and wonderful production."
There is a rain effect on stage. Drops of water and small rubber pieces from the stage floor may land in or near the first two rows of the Orchestra section (rows A and B).
