A New York Times Critics’ Pick, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) “delivers lavishly on laughter, escape, and fantasy.”
Meet Dougal, an impossibly upbeat Brit who has just landed in New York City for the first time to attend the wedding of the father he’s never met. Meet Robin, the sister of the bride and a no-nonsense New Yorker with a lot of errands to do for the bride—including picking up the groom’s estranged son from the airport.
These two strangers begin their journey together navigating New York City, secrets, and second chances. The Boston Globe proclaims, it’s “IRRESISTIBLE! Clever, funny, and delightfully surprising!”
"I was impressed with the cast's ability to put on a two person show with a smooth transition between song and story. The story felt personable as a new yorker. There were laughs, scandalous moments, and scenes that pulled on your heart strings."

Fresh and Uplifting
"This was a wonderful show! The sheer stamina of 2 actors to carry an entire play and hold the audience's interest is a feat in and of itself but to embody two heart warming characters makes this an absolute winner! The quick witted humor, timely song lyrics and genuine stage presence of the actors was beyond. The stage, band ensemble, and sets were ingenious and surprisingly versatile. We had a very long day prior to our show time and nearly decided to skipped it. We are so happy that we didn't! Go, you will not regret it!"

Best show we've seen this year
"We bought tickets to this show knowing only the title, which was intriguing enough that we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! The cast is phenomenal, the innovative staging kept revealing surprise after surprise, and the music is a delight. If you're only going to see one show this season, make it Two Strangers—it's a pleasure from start to finish. "
